研究紹介 Research Introduction

緑内障がもたらす生体リズム障害への影響

目の中にある網膜（カメラで例えるとフィルムの部分）には内因性光感受性網膜神経節細胞(ipRGC)という特別な細胞があります。この細胞は光を感じ取り、脳にある体内時計の中枢へ光情報を伝える大切な役割を担っています。緑内障は網膜神経節細胞が傷んでいく病気ですので、進行するとこの特別な細胞(ipRGC)が減り、睡眠のリズムなどの体内時計の乱れを引き起こす可能性があります。そのため私たちは、緑内障が見え方だけでなく全身にどのような影響を与える可能性があるのか研究しています。
